I had already bought a hand pump and I used that to top it off. Once the mattress is zipped in it is as stable as any bed in your house. i think the customer service is an issue.

To that end, I’m going to try a couple of the suggestions in the Q/A section: putting the air mattress in it’s own mattress bag & putting thin cardboard strips between the metal frame & bed material. 1. I can't imagine you would regret this purchase Very nice for sleeping.

So as camper, I have tried many different sleeping cots and air mattresses, I’ve tried different sizes, and different heights Ect. I also like that if your air mattress goes flat, you are still super comfy in a big cot. But it does work as advertised and we were very comfortable.
