Given their cost, this is the big advantage to a common battery design as I run 9 wood working and garden tools on 4 batteries. Batteries recharge in a couple of hours.

Solid reliability of Makita tools I've owned over 40 years. Poor points:Handle does not fold and a tad short for me (6ft 1in)Poor packaging with loose nuts and bolts as the plastic parts bag had been previously opened. Well designed grass capture. Plus points:Lightweight for a mowerRelatively quiet and does not disturb the neighboursInterchangeable batteries with all the other modern Makita tools.

I've used for 13 months now with a few months off for winter. Cable holders do not hold cables, but easy to replace with some small zip ties. I can hang the mower up in the shed to save space and nothing leaks out (no oil or petrol)It easily picks up leaves off the lawn which was useful last fall even though the lawn did not need mowing.
