Thats a shame, because from the first track to the last, this album doesn't disappoint and delivers a phenomenally impactful and powerful musical anthem for its time. They then go on to absolutely deliver a proper rock classic thumper - Meal Ticket - which if it doesn't get your foot tapping and playing the air drums - nothing will!

! Having grown up in the super-creative time of 70's and 80's artists *(ELO, Fleetwood Mac, Supertramp, CSN etc), this album is often over-looked for the more popular Goodbye Yellow Brick Road or Don't Shoot Me, I am the Piano Player as the high point of Elton and Bernie's creative capabilities.

It is one of my favorite music albums, I consider it as one of the best albums of Elton John, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy. Enjoy Captain Fantastic and the Dirt Brown Cowboy - its still a hot album after 45 years and is a key piece of any decent music collection! From the opening track we are hooked with fantastic musical craft and the title track is a great opener to give you a feel of whats about to come with great guitar work, clear orchestration and melody that is unlike most title tracks of albums which tend to be disappointing and stuck in as an after thought.

This album plays like an album should do - you put it on and you listen for 50 minutes letting your mind wander and you ears be entertained with all types of instruments and acoustic accompaniments washing over you, so that after you have played it, you could just put it back on again - its not a boring album! The album makes the Rolling Stones Top 500 list at number 158, but is in my top 3 and I play it at least once a month and intend to make it one of the top 10 albums I will make my grand-children listen to as part of their musical education. I like all the tracks on this album such as Bitter fingers, someone saved my life tonight, better off dead, we all fall in love sometimes, curtains and Lucy in the sky with diamonds.
