I really enjoyed this book, the relationship felt realistic and wholesome, and the couple faced real life fears many teens do. This book hooked me from it's opening line: "It was late afternoon, on the very last Wednesday of August, when I realized Disney had been lying to me for quite some time about Happily Ever Afters. It warms this old gals heart to read stories like this. IAlso Lara is amazing.

I liked it at all. Pacing was a touch slow, the story felt a little long, but I never got bored and read it in two sittings. I am huge fan of Sophie Gonzales writing and for me she is a must read author. Will was that paranoid closeted jock, and it was interesting to see him navigate his feelings and peers.

I fully expected to dislike this book because I felt the concept was a grease knock off. I am a picky reader and rarely 5 star anything.

Sometimes you just need some good, sweet, slightly melancholy teenage romance reads to lift our spirits. This book does such a great job of covering important issues as coming out, acceptance, family and grief as well as making you feel all the warm and fuzzies at the same time!

Book. That being said I still really buy the romance and even if he wasn't Romeo levels of sweet at the end there was still plenty of love.
I have to note the inclusion of family and its active presence in the story. It was listed as an LGBTQIA version of Grease and I was already sold bu Gonzales had the writing to back it up! I'm kinda shocked by how much I loved this book. Actual rating 4.
