First I'm going to say that the way Laura Purcell jumps from time to time is seamless (the story takes place in 2 seperate periods of time) Normally, It just isn't easily done. Do not read this at night. The media could not be loaded. This book more than lived up to the hype.

" I enjoyed the tension it built by narrating the story from three different perspectives. As for the companions, they may have been wooden, but they felt anything but lifeless and there was a sinister malevolence to them that sent shivers down my spine.
The booktrail
I did not expect this book to be so chilling and have never been so unnerved by a book. It seemed the further I got into the story, the more questions and uncertainty I had. All in all it was a fantastic read, one that I wouldn't mind going back to for a second read (which is something I have never EVER been able to do. But as time goes on she finds more confidence and we see a strong and determined woman emerge.

It was so cleverly written, jumping from the different decades and centuries in a way which naturally flowed. I felt the main character's trepidation, which is exactly what I want to happen while reading a story such as this. Favourite Quote: "Death, once conceived, was rapacious. It’s a little unnerving the kind of horror that lies inside her mind.
