Then when it did fire, it was a bit underwhelming. It feels like a new feature designed to make the bullets not hurt if they hit someone (like the other ones did) but it feels like a bit of a belly flop release instead of powerful. It's big when built, probably somewhere near the size of a real machine gun.

It's not awful, but it's not what I expected from such a big impressive looking gun. But I have to say outside of the box I was a tiny bit disappointed. The media could not be loaded. Sometimes it doesn't fire and jams, can tell because the nerf bullet is slightly bent in the middle of the foam.

My opinion

So you press down on the lower button to 'rev up' the motor, then pull the trigger to fire - either on the single shot or burst modes. I've got Nerf guns that really pelt out the bullet at speed and it's a very satisfying straight-line shot; this one feels a bit like throwing the bullet like a paper airplane, it kind of bows in the air and doesn't release from the gun with force. The thing itself is built great though and it's fun having it butt in to your shoulder like a real gun, be able to use the scope sights, change the magazine - really adds to the imaginative play of it. Don't get me wrong, it's impressive.

And if you put one bit on wrong it stops the automatic thing from working, so it took a good 20 mins before working out how to actually make it fire. Then when it does fire, it's pretty weak. I don't think a kid under 11 could work out how to build the thing from the instructions alone.

Requires 4 x Type C batteries, behind a screwed battery compartment, requires a philips screwdriver (or very careful knife skills). I got it for Christmas and it comes with 3 powerful modes the thirst mode is single fire ( one bullet comes out ) second is 3 bullet fire ( fires three bullets at a time then the last is rapid fire ( shoots rapidly ) so I highly recommend this to your little Tiddlers ( children ) WARNING I recommend masivly but i do reccommend this toy for children over 4 or 5 because its very pourfull but its great for nerf wars and stuff like that and also you can by cool attachments for it such as scopes so I do recommend this gun 😁😁😁

Only a tiny bit hence why 4 stars is an ideal rating. Some of the bullets go far, the length of a room, some don't, some jam, the precision of the thing is non existent and i've rebuilt and re-insterted everything multiple times to check its not me and the way i've built it and it just seems to be how this toy works. It's near a metre long with all the bits attached.
