So much that in summer months here in North Carolina I felt they were defeating the purpose of my AC, yes they would product that much heat! 4Kwh x $0. !

My dimmer is of the 'tap a switch for 3 brightness level' variety. After replacing all 8 halogens I was only seeing two levels (the lowest wasn't working). They look and feel like they are good quality. In my case these prevented inserting the bulbs into the socket far enough for the pins to make contact.

Looking at my old G8 bulbs, they were smaller than the sample ones the seller measured, and slightly flattened on each side of the bulb which gave the originals more clearance. Notice the lack of hot spots on the left side. I was able to 'smash' the glass filter over them and barely get the retaining ring in place to secure them. It also doesn't heat up our kitchen like the old bulbs did.

The old halogen bulbs provided adequate lighting but produced a LOT OF HEAT. Not an issue for night light mode because not noticeable from a distance. Great product! UPDATE: After 1.

The seller went out of her way to help the last time and I figured I'd try it again. However, they still fit inside my pucks without issue, but consider your own light fixtures. I will note that while they are dimmable I am not using that feature.
