Sound quality amazing, plenty of boomy low and midrange for a great cinematic experience and gets real loud with no distortion. I read a number of reviews around the web and this was recommended by a number of sites as a quality budget soundbar and I decided to give it a go. For the price though the sound quality meets my low expectations. You can also connect the soundbar to your WiFi and stream music to it, or connect to it via Bluetooth.

Setup was simple, connect the ARC output to the HDMI input on the soundbar and plug in power to the mains. Also the bass is a bit punchy and over powering in the default configuration. This kit only comes with 3x2 soundbar and wireless subwoofer, but has an upgrade option to add wireless rear channels which is nice. Uk power cords included in the box were 3rd party and too long, protruded from the base of the soundbar so did not sit flush and weight rested on the power socket.

Contacted samsung tech support who rectified the issue in 3 days by sending a samsung branded uk 3pin plugged lead which begs the question why did they send incorrect leads in the first place and are they sending them out to all uk customers? There are a few faults with this soundbar however:1) When connecting via streaming or Bluetooth, it doesn't return the the previous (HDMI) channel when the connection is ended, nor does it automatically change channels when audio or video comes through the HDMI input2) The unit doesn't have direct source assignment from either the remote or app, you have to cycle through the 5 sources, so it doesn't play well with universal remotes where you want to set the input source for different actions3) The remote is very limited and confusing, but I've only used it once while setting it up since I use a universal remote for the soundbar, TV and set-top box4) It's a good upgrade from TV speakers, but don't expect home theater audio at this price point When powering on the subwoofer, it connected right away. Since moving from a house with a nice surround sound system to a smaller flat 18 months ago, I've been using just the speakers integrated in the TV.

The bass is quite heavy, but can be adjusted via remote control or app. Maybe my ceilings are too high, or the open floor plan doesn't let the up firing speakers work properly, but I've never heard any perceived surround sound from this kit. Since I just renewed the lease for another 18 months, I wasn't going to put up with awful TV speakers for the duration.
