4/5 Disney's Moana is a beautiful, tranquil envisioning of adventure, laughter and whole-hearted family-fun. Moana tells the story of a feisty young chieftain's daughter living on an idyllic tropical island. Seriously, the animation is first rate.

And it all looks absolutely gorgeous. There's a really skilful blend of traditional storytelling, drawing from myth and legend, and epic cinematic action. Their sparky chemistry reminded me a bit of Leia and Han in Star Wars – although the moviemakers refreshingly avoided forcing any kind of romantic angle, focusing on witty exchanges and the pair's growing friendship and respect instead. He's funny and brash and completely likeable.
Well packed . I'm confident they'll stand up well to repeat listens; they're all totally catchy and delivered with real heart. Moana satisfies visually with its color and high caliber graphics to lead the way. Dwayne Johnson and Auli'i Cravalho fill the voices of Maui and Moana respectively.
