The electronic unit is also laughable in these modern times for what essentially is an adults games. I like the contactless machine because it calculates all the costs for you and works out all the rent rates. Given the counters match the credit cards and icons on the electronic unit you can't even substitute them for old tokens. If you are the normal family who occasionally loses track of who goes next while someone goes for a pee, makes a cup of tea only to declare where was my turn or you left me out resulting in a massive tantrum from 8 year olds then you are stuffed. While the original monopoly may have taken a lifetime to play, this one can be completed in under an hour. It is does not take forever to play.

wrong items dont buy! I like the bank cards are Rick and not to bendy and the barcodes are huge so not as fiddly as self scan supermarket headaches.

This is where the game changes most. Plus Monopoly spaces.

The machine takes care of the auction. Also there is a traveling feature that lets you move anywhere on the board if you pay 100$ (quite cheap).

The auction feature is fun as if you land on a square you have to buy it or auction it. Each time anybody (including yourself) lands on your property, it's rent automatically goes up a level. The best thing taken out the game was mortgaging properties to the bank. Once a child works out to reset the game to the start mid tantrum you are also lost.

This is very overpowered as you can move directly to Mayfair and the other top end properties. The old game focused on money, rent and random events.
