Still fits in a pocket though. Terrible blue fringes around the contrasting areas, lots of noise, very slow response when you press the shutter (I have lots of photos of dogs disappearing out of the frame - the butt loads, no very many heads). The only drawback that I have found with the camera is that the lens stays out when you are viewing photographs, meaning that it has a greater chance to get dusty or damaged.

And the image is sharper a lot more - The zoom is quite respectable 6x optical - 16mp is pretty respectable, but you can take that up to 8 without sacrificing much - Camera response time is a lot better too, at least twice as sensitive, maybe better. I remember image stabilisation being good too.

It looks even better than in the online photos and when I started taking photos with it I discovered that it actually takes incredible pictures (and does fit in my pocket). You will see the fringes of terrible blue with the old device, now abolished with the S3300.

The exposure was at least a few seconds long, and yet the result was usable. The thickness is substantially the same.

I own a predecessor to this camera, the Nikon S220 (At the time of writing, still to be found here on the Amazon pages: Nikon Coolpix S220 Digital Camera - Black (10. It's just a one-button press now; before you had to go through a menu- deleting several images is also more convenient now. A big plusIt is a tiny bit wider and taller. I remember the image stabilization is good too.
