Floral berry notes after much dillutionYamazaki Single Malt Whisky has a complex nose, which definitely benefits from chilling and dilution. .

The after taste is what really wins you over. As with everything the Japanese are taking extra care with details.
Will be having another bottle for science purposes soon. I've seen some comments that dilution up to 47% can be required to get all the flavours and scents from the whiskey, I wouldn't go quite that far, but it certainly benefitted from the chilling and dilution over time. Great whisky, not too complicated, not very demanding but worthy of remembering.
Although not exactly my preferred taste, and much to the simpler side with of taste combinations, still a great single malt. It’s like driving a Lexus for the first time, it’s just not as edgy, not as shiny, not quite the bang you’d expect, and then it’s something you just won’t change over anything else. Cheers!
On the tongue, the whiskey starts out with a lot of berries, but as time goes on there's more of a floral, spicy note.
