The front cover has some texturing on the sea turtle and DK is in GOLD coloured lettering that follows through to the spine. In double-page spread format, the headings are clear, the text is in a variety of sizes, mainly in BLACK but sometimes TURQUOISE on BLACK, e. ) The book also tackles current problems we face such as overfishing, global warming and plastic.

This book is great value for money and I would recommend it for children of all ages. By doing what we can to help, we can give the sea a sustainable future to benefit both humans and animals. Emotion is nicely addressed with a sad face or two at the suggestion of rougher times, e.
It explains how these impact the earth and what we can do to help minimise it. The seemingly busy pages are broken into short informative pieces, with superb illustrations and a colourful layout designed to catch the eye & curiosity of the younger reader. I purchased this to help my 4-5year old son with his school homework on habitats. …there are snippets that I didn’t know…like what threatens ‘By-the-wind Sailors’!
This is balanced with enough detail to stimulate the older ones and encourage further research, in my experience; the last page with a poignant message (last image below refers):📝 ‘A Wave of ChangeAs a result of overfishing and pollution, humans are pushing the sea to its limit. The design and layout of the book is perfect for little ones. The last page has a short alphabetical INDEX. .
