When Jameson amalgamated with Powers and Cork Distillers to form the Irish Distillers group, the Dublin distilleries were closed down, with all production moved to New Midleton distillery in Cork in 1975. Step into The Spirits Room to view more. Figs, dates, ripe banana, sultanas, red apple and lime. The brand was created by W. Palate: A fruit explosion. Tasting Notes: A recreation from Redbreast of a whiskey which was last seen in the 1970s. Pot Still spices combine with the sweet vanilla and pine from the cask. Gilbey's discontinued the brand ten years later, but agreed to sell it to Irish Distillers who relaunched it in 1991.
