The only possible downside I can think about this is that it's a one-shot thing. The instruction book is in order by number, and has clear instructions with color photos to guide you through. So this is not a simple advent calendar, where the child just opens a day, and takes out the toy for the day. Wasn’t expecting much based on previous advent calendars in general.

I get that those day's activities are just flat pieces of paper (optical illusion), but an advent calendar should have each day wrapped separately. It comes with a fully illustrated manual, to make your experiments go well. A much better option than candy. Unique and educational gift!

My child loves to do science experiments. It's a great idea, just be sure to allot some time every day for this calendar. I had to try this. They're fun, and I love it when my kids are doing anything other than staring at a screen.

We're a science-y household, and have done most of the major brands of kits (Kiwi, Tinker, MEL). This advent calendar is such a great idea!

I can't wait until one of the kids do a science magic trick! But we're going to have a whole lot of fun! I've never seen an advent science kit.
