At first, the film touched and fascinated me like rarely anyone else. Wilkinson discovers an extraordinary talent in him and promotes it as best she can. But she soon sees her own limits and proposes to have Billy audition at a renowned ballet school in London.
Billy Elliot is superficially a dance film. As a true dance grouch, I was unfortunately able to decide not to buy Billy Elliot until quite late. And I kind of disappear like my whole body is changing. But as a lover of England, I did it after all.
Where the journey of his sexual development will take is open and probably not yet fully aware of himself. The trip is going to London. And when he says goodbye from home, he can give his friend a timid kiss, even though he knows that father and brother are watching. .
Like there's fire in my body. But it is also a film about the human and adolescent development of a boy who receives boxing lessons financed by his father, who struggles to scrape together the money for it. He inspired me and carried me away. But he can stand by what he is and what he wants: He wants to become a dancer with body and soul.
