There is a flaw with the design of the kettle in that the water level indicator is placed behind the handle; I suspect that is to avoid spoiling the appearance. More grey/blue than blue. It’s not a cheap kettle to buy and I suspect that most of the cost is due to the styling, but there is a matching 4-slice toaster available too and I’m seriously considering buying one.
A Smile and a Wave
The minimum is a mere 300ml, so just a cupful of water. For me the main attraction of this kettle is its appearance – I love it! In practical terms it is well-made, with a sturdy feel to it although the plastic base does feel a little too light in weight. Never has a kettle attracted so much interest in my home – there have been a lot of visitors over Christmas and every one of them has commented very positively about it.
But looks very good and seems to boil more quickly than last kettle. Mine is the Mineral Blue version and the styling is excellent, looking like a kettle version of Robby the Robot from the film 1956 sci-fi film Forbidden Planet.
I like that the kettle heats the water quickly, probably thanks to its wide base and the 1. It doesn’t make it a bad design but it is difficult to see the indicator whilst filling it up. 5 litre capacity is plenty if you need a lot of water.
