Use oxy clean for stains and this apparatus and you can clean your hats with ease. I used this product from Amazon and cleaned it better than the dry cleaner

The item has decent snaps and seems pretty sturdy. Works well for washing hats, I had to undo the back for the hat to fit in the cage as I struggled to get it to fit,l Wouldn't recommend for children's hats, full size adults hats only. The picture is taken after cap is washed with other laundry from a top-loaded washer.

I use it as a cap holder/storage as well. Cheers! I would try the washing machine, except ours has an agitator, and that’s a no-no with this type of cap holder.

I found a dry cleaner that charged $15 a hat. Note, it was recommended to not use lemon scented dishwashing detergent - citric acid. I was hesitated at first as it is MIC but it proved to be durable and 5 knots are handy to fasten the cap washer which perfectly keeping the shape and big enough for this kind of one size fit all baseball cap.

My only complaint (and, it didn’t occur to me prior to purchase), is that the design of this product results in the outer brim where the bill meets the cap, being blocked from cleaning by a “stem” of plastic on the cage design… right in front of the outer brim. One dry cleaner wanted $30 a hat to dry clean. That said, the hat is cleaner than before washing.

The media could not be loaded. I used this to try to clean a ball type cap I wear when walking … the summer heat creates sweat stains around the brim.
