Book arrived well packed, and undamaged. A must for TMI fans! Each chapter deals with a different place, topic, or time, filling in gaps between the events that have taken place in The Mortal Instruments series and The Infernal Devices trilogy.

I think that this book fills in some gaps in his story that we missed in the other books and fleshes out his character to deeper levels and we end up with a more detailed understanding of who Magnus is and why he is such a decent and caring man. It delves into Magnus' first few interactions with Shadowhunters and how he always tends to have a soft spot and connection with the more tragic and misunderstood Nephilim than his general wariness of them as an organisation.
