But this is probably the closest you can get to a live performance. To just extras they could have included their catalogue of music videos considering the Beatles as a band didn't have very many. The DVD's are housed in a sturdy and attractive outer-case.

Disc 2 - is episodes three and four (2hrs 24mins long) - and looks at the Beatles as they conquer the world of music, up until August 1965. That series was, initially, released on VHS - and, some time later, on DVD.

The DVD set is more substantial than both the TV series and the VHS edition. although, of course, the Lennon footage consists of archive material. In conclusion this is well worth it in my opinion just they did so amazing on making an impeccable package and documentary it's dissapointing that they missed the dot on the included extras l but if you ask me still well worth a pick up and for a beatles fan it's an IMMEDIATE purchase Disc 4 - is episodes seven and eight (2hrs 35mins long) - and concerns the gradual break-up of the band, up until 1970.
BUT there are some drawbacks in which they could have done better here, considering they dedicated and entire DISC! What makes this DVD set special - as with the 'Anthology' project as a whole - is that it's an official release, having the input of the Beatles themselves . the very beginning and goes all the way to the end with excellent menus and navigation around the menus.
Overall, this is an excellent item. This is it - featuring a 5 disc set, exploring the history of the Beatles in chronological order. The Beatles' "Anthology" project was a major event - involving the release of new singles ( Free As A Bird & Real Love ), three double albums ( Anthology 1 , Anthology 2 and Anthology 3 ), a book ( The Beatles Anthology ), and a TV documentary series.
It consists of 8 episodes and a disc of special features (which includes, for example, the making of the 'Real Love' track). . Disc 3 - is episodes five and six (2hrs 23mins long) - and examines the Beatles at the height of their popularity, up until June 1967. Told in their own words, it starts from the beginning.
The quality of these documentaries is superb - and represents a 'must have' for Beatles fans. Disc 1 - is episodes one and two (2hrs 31mins long) - and focuses on the formation of the Beatles, exploring their initial success up until February 1964. Very good boxset that arrived in good condition, this is a true Beatle fans dream set and the best documentary about them yet and in all honesty probably ever.
