Seems to work fine. In no time at all I managed to create a 15 foot column of fire. I hate gardening. Of course, you can also elect to burn the plants to a crisp and then sweep up the ash, like I did.

The end stays hot for a while so stow it safely. It's much less visible on a sunny day, which I think leads people to worry about whether it's really working properly. ***STOP PRESS*** Its not working anymore ! Time will tell if it's more effective.

I have no view on the igniter, it worked so far the few times I've used it, but even if it broke you could just light the end some other way. Here’s the method that works for me:-Point skyward in a safe direction (outside! and other stuff.

)-Open valve until you hear a light hiss-Press red button repeatedly until you see a flame-Open valve more for flame to become more fierce-Point down towards weed-Direct at top of weed at least 6 inches above ground-Allow weed to shrivel, move onNote that on a sunny day you won’t see the flame as its light blue. Brilliant for block paving.
