Even when using it on the reverse side. This is a milky white.

I was so wrong. You can’t see it in the picture. The widest gap that I needed to fill was 5mm and the tape colour is quite visible.

I found stopgap easy to use and it seems to do the job. I would also have appreciated the tape to have a more neutral wood colour.
I was a bit dubious that as some of the gaps were so big that this product wouldn’t work! ! THATS how good it is :)
