It tackles all the questions you never thought to ask and in a way that isn't too academic or dense (although I do love those kinds of books too). 10/10 It's a brisk and fun read. Never before wondered if the Ancient Romans wore underwear or if they shaved their nether areas, but this book has enlightened me.

And while enjoying this book, I learned of his next one and ordered an advance copy. I'm 3/4 of the way through this book and can't recommend it enough. If you like this, you will likely enjoy the work of Vicki Leon, she’s similarly witty and also highly readable.

I discovered Garrett with his told in stone YouTube channel and soon came to love his videos and sense of humor as he shares tidbits about history. Although I haven't finished the book it's been a great read so far!

Great book. Books like this bring any museum alive. I enjoyed every chapter! This is exactly the kind of book you want when you're traveling and want to bring something you can get through cover to cover in your downtime.
