It comes with a 20mil spade cutter included to drill out your chopping block for the main bar to sit in but make sure your not in a rush to remove it from the block as 20mil is a bit tight and is a real struggle to get it back out( I don't plan on taking mine out so not a issue). Top tip for big bits of trunk don’t go for a 1/2 split. I have mounted mine on a chopping block with a old 13" tyre around it to stop the logs flying off. Good bit of kit within its uses.

However don't expect it to chop knotty wood like pine even if it's dry a hydronic splitter struggles with that! It's easy to set up and chops standard size rounds no problem and is so much easier on my back than an axe! Can end up with neatly split firewood - perfect for this years BBQ's.

we rely on fire wood for heating/hot water etc so fire wooding is a part time job for me! Scavenged logs for many years and always used an axe. I was looking at electric and petrol splitters but didn't want to spend that much. Easily deals with logs of any size.

No problem with the axe but saw one of these online and thought let’s try it. Delivery was rapid for starters, it seems really tough and well made. Take nibbles off from the outside and work your way in to the heart wood. The media could not be loaded.

It's a great buy and I highly recommend it. What a bit of kit. Yes it's a little bit slower than an axe and you will always need a axe for the tougher wood but it's so much easier.

I saw all the good reviews for this and thought I'd give it a go. Awesome,worked my way through a few tonnes with this, hardly broke a sweat.
