The Behringer is fine but I wanted a mid focused drive pedal with more gain/bite than it offered and knew the SD-1 would provide that. If I try to shape a sound that acts like a gain/treble boost for those high intensity, wall of sound moments, it does it really well. This pedal will outlast your playing and probably humanity. I will be using this pedal as my prime Overdrive go to pedal SD-1

And it gives me that warm overdrive tube like sound I wanted with more flexibility in the gain knob than a tubescreamer. This is a medium gain overdrive, not a distortion pedal. By itself it have a nicely driven distortion with a wide enough range of gain and the true bypass works great. I think some that rated this lower wanted a straight up distortion pedal which this is NOT.

always a fan of Boss It can sound a little wooly with some pickup types but when it's driven by Fuzz or a Tube Screamer effects pedal it really tightens up the compression and give the player a really unique Stoner Rock Sound.

I got one of these to replace a Behringer TO800. If you want that warm tube amp sound, this is perfect. THE SHEER POWERFUL PRESENCE AND CLARITY IS BEYOND COMPARE ! You won't regret it.
