This is more than a robot vacuum, and the price gives you a hint. The time schedule and cleaning sequence are another upgrade, which make it works at night rather than have to set it before going to bed. It won't struggle to climb over the chair stand and stuck there forever like S7, but it will cover less area and avoid to mop the carpet area in the hall way, as shown in the cleaning map. Comparing to X1, X1e doesn't have 3d structure light and auto refilling for water tank.

The OP

Both fuctions are not essential for my requirement but could save me £150. From a design perspective it is quite sleek, however it does occupy some space as the stations at which it docks is quite big due to the two water tanks for clean and dirty water (I believe they’re at least 5L each).

X1e now has better mopping method and can easily mop the kitchen without water streak. Not to mention that it detects carpets as well, so it wouldn’t mop it with water but just hoover.

I however have laminate, so I do want to have my floor clean all the time with little fuss and effort! So the total cleaning time is shorter than S7 by around 1/10. This means that it actually works like you’d mop yourself and clean the water when it gets dirty.
