The battery performance is impressive. The 650mm blade is not quite as robust as some I have used but is well enough matched to the power available & has coped with everything it has tackled - 15ft leyland hedges are generally not a problem. The machine has tremendous power at level 6.

If you are unsure, you should try the machine of handling and weight before. But I'll take the pruners first. So I swayed between gasoline and cordless hedge shears (performance and flexibility).

As a passionate amateur gardener who attaches great importance to high-quality and powerful garden tools, this hedge trimmer is an absolute highlight in my collection. I was sceptical at first but the rotating rear handle actually helps considerably to reduce stress on the forearms (front & rear handles need to be pressed at the same time to operate) as well as helping you to shape the hedging. Excellent product, Makita is not disproved, but be careful that it comes naked, that is, there are no batteries (2 of them needed) and chargers, the final price buying original batteries and chargers is around the 400€. Longer than you want to keep this slightly weighty machine throughout.

There are now brushless 18v 75cm Makita trimmers but they aren't quite as powerful due to being 18v and not 36v despite being brushless. Amazing.
