Several other people tried as well and failed. I had written a review that I could not operate the zipper properly to completly unzip the 2 sides of the zipper form each other. This insulated poncho is the inner of a 2 part emergency shelter. With a rain and wind resistant poncho over the insulated one I purchased this makes a good way to stay both warm and dry in bad weather .

So I started the product return process and then as I was packing the product up, I manged to make the zippers separate! great idea for part of a Big Out Bag if you build one only your head pokes out of the bag.

I put this on over a t-shirt and shorts and sat outside at 0c for an hour and was toasty warm. Not used outside yet, but seems very warm and great quality. I bought this to use inside my envirogear sleeping bag tha is rated for -45C. You need to wear a scarf for the neck or sew on a velcro flap closure or come up with your own solution.

Yes you can pull on the drawstring to close up the hole but you have to make it pretty tight to close the hole and that the hood then very tight around the face and to restrictive. I have cancelled the return, The only thing I still don't like is the hood opening below my chin makes it very drafty on the neck.

. you could not unzip at either end. Because my work is 400km from where I live (Northern Ontario)I keep an emergency kit in the trunk of my car.
