The pages with 'the reindeer doing some last minute take-off practice' amid the trees decorated with baubles always gets a chuckle. A girl called Amy has written a letter to Santa, but when it arrives down his chimney the letter gets slightly burnt in the fireplace.

I loved the interactive elements of opening doors which is perfect for children. On the front, the stamp in the top right-hand corner indicates some surprises to be found inside, namely ‘WITH 5 CHRISTMAS SURPRISES TO OPEN’, (in the form of lift-up flaps), adding an extra dimension. ? I didn’t expect this to be as humorous as it was. The Jolly Christmas Postman was my favourite Christmas book as a child and I couldn’t wait to read Santa Post with my daughters.

The ending of the story is so good with the last page making me laugh again at what happens with Santa. I had a few wee tears in my eyes and a big smile on my face by the book’s end. This really is such a gem of a book to share at Christmas.
