The colour coding and labeling work very well to distinguish the correct strings and lay all the packets out neatly, doing a string at a time was made easy with these. 5 scale in Drop C# or lower. I used these years ago, and I recently got a new guitar and needed better strings to replace the factory fitted ones so tried these again.

It sounds lovely now. Good value for money.

If you're looking for good quality strings which give your guitar a sweet and perfect sound then look no further! In terms of feel I believe they're the same gauge as my original strings however they 'feel' more smooth and resonant, they just glide easier! I think most people don't like alot of tension on their strings so maybe you wouldn't have that issue.

Ernie Ball truly hit the nail on the head with this set. For me, the DarkZones really shine in a Drop B purely because of those heavier bottom strings but getting them in to Drop C just has way too much tension. Regarding longevity, I have owned them for 4 months and they have held tune and haven't snapped, this may be partly due to my stretching of the strings when I first installed them to avoid dealing with them setting in so slowly! I just restrung my guitar 2 days ago and the high E string broke, it was weird because it didnt snap, it just seemed to unwind from the metal ring that holds it inside the tailpiece.

For years, I have been switching between Rotosound DarkZone (10-60) and Ernie Ball Power Slinky (11-48) but finally I have found the set that is exactly what I have been looking for. . I'm practically minded and after watching some videos it made changing the strings less scary, just making sure the string wraps around the tuners whilst correctly holding tension until the string has wound enough times is crucial. As with all Ernie Ball sets, the quality is also amazing and they deliver a stunning, bright tone, especially through my EMG-JH pickups!
