So it seems I need to return the whole product. The lens cover broke on virtually the first time of using them, and under very Little pressure. Edit: Nikon changed their mind and replaced the part. The actual binoculars are very good.
I did contact Nikon UK about a replacement part, but they will only do so at my expense.
