Reviews

I will update this review should I encounter any problem with the V130. I was thrilled my broadband speed test showed: download 51mbps and 6ms latency (the lowest latency I have ever had on my connection). My reason for this purchase was based around the security and connection problems that can be inherent in the Home Hubs provided by BT, along with the lack of flexibility that they offer in customising a network to your requirements.

Very easy to use with BT Infinity. I bought this modem to be used alongside an ASUS RT-AC87U ASUS RT-AC87U AC2400 Dual-Band Gigabit Wireless Router on a BT Infinity 2 package; my BT package is rated for a maximum of 76Mbps download and 19 Mbps upload. Tip: selling your unwanted new BT home hub will almost fund this modem :)

My broadband connection is stable, no connection drop out. These have mostly been configured with UniFi kit and would recommend to anyone who's looking to move away from the OEM crap you get from your ISP.

Some reviews have reported the V130 gets hot or overheated, mine isn't. While I experienced consistent strong wifi signal strength with the R7800, especially on the 5Ghz radio band, my broadband speed stalled at 38 to 44Mbps with 14 to 17ms latency, causing buffering wth 4K and even HD video content.

I have recently upgraded all of my network infrastructure at my house and for many businesses and can highly recommend this unit. The best thing is, usually there's no config required for UK Customers. I was baffled why a seemingly inferior BT HH 5 outperforms the R7800. 29).

I relied on my ISP's router (BT Home Hub 5), which tends to provide low latency and high downstream my telephone line supports. Wondering if the Openreach modem (see picture) was the cause, I tried resetting the modem, the wired and wireless network adapters to no avail.

Just plug in the modem cable from your BT openreach line in box on the wall . 8ms latency over my VPN connection.
