After the intervening years, I began again, with gouaches and acrylics, feeling my way into my imagery. Each card doubles as a playing card and tarot card. I made the decision to create a series of pieces based on the 22 Major Arcana, the persistent archetypes of human experience. I have always loved painting, and during the late 70's -early 80's I created large scale acrylic and plaster paintings, and later a series of figurative gouaches. Each painting has a word or two attached about its referential meaning. I taught at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston for 32 years.
