The materials are good. At home/local use I find it just fine for short trips, but when I am really travelling I ALSO include my decksaver cover ( Decksaver DS-PC-DDJRR Pioneer DDJ-RR DJ Controller Cover ) which does fit inside the case and provides significantly more pressure/impact protection. Great case Appears it will last a long time.

The shell is semi-rigid, but it will not provide adequate protection for impact or items being placed on it. See above suggestion re: Decksaver Cover as a great addition for longer/rougher travel. I bought it for the shoulder strap.

Material feels nice and rugged. Fits my ddj sr nice and snug. This is NOT a hard case.
