The tap brackets were quick & easy to install with a hammer. I'm currently using much heavier & longer curtains to block out the Summer heat. (Keep in mind: My curtains are probably too wide for my rod length anyway. I got 2 sets for my gransons studio so he could have blackout drapes for movie watchning and daytime sleep they only took a few mininutes to put in and we both love how super easy it was to do what we needed for his place now its complete.

I installed this over a window that was approximately 40 inches wide. The rod and panels weigh around 8 lbs total. If left alone, they were fine.

Way better looking & sturdier than any "Command hook curtain hacks. At least I know there are studs directly aligned with the window edges. No amount of pulling will bring the curtains down.

)All in all, the Tap Brackets are extremely useful. It's not so bad if I tie them loosely, but then they block my window fan quite a bit. You can also see how my window trim is not straight on one side, yet the tap bracket has held up just fine.

Therefore, I'd say it has prevented damages to the wall and saved me from having to do any patch work when I move out. If I didn't have blinds, I would use a tension rod to hang sheer curtains underneath a more opaque set. This allows me to attach the sides of the curtain to the trim to minimize gaps. )

) The tap brackets stick out far enough that my curtains can overlap my thick blinds without issue. It was not caused by the Tap Bracket in anyway.
