3) I was lifting a wall 4. 2) It requires an American sized "2x4", which is actually more like 1. It's pretty scary to think the jack could collapse, so make sure you nail a kick bloc for the jack's 2x4 to sit against, as well as some saw horses and other prop timbers to save you if it fails.

I needed this jack to lift a wall I had built on the floor and had become too heavy to lift myself. I used the bar from a car's hydraulic jack.

Works a treat, could not have lifted these walls with out the jack. Some thoughts:1) It doesn't come with a bar to actually use it.

As others have said it was very tight on a 2x4 (even a planed one). The jack "climbs" up the timber very well, and carried it's load well. Now that I have this in my toolkit I'm sure I'll come up with extra uses for it, so it's not going to be a "one use tool". Plane the wood or grind the Jack if you have problems
