The rocks were really hard to break open. This was our first foray into geodes.

I also wore a light pair work of gloves. I wore a different pair of protective glasses I already had, but I appreciate that the kit included goggles. A fantastic learning tool and A great booklet included. Two of them turned out very nice, clean and sparkly inside.

Looking at the guide that comes with it we got 3 different types too. We were a bit disappointed with the rocks, two were really small.

We opted for the 4 pack as we felt it was better value (it was on offer at the time) it did not disappoint. It's a shame because those two rocks hinted at having something other than plain white crystal quartz inside. It was a fun experience cracking open the geodes with the kids. Tips: Patience is needed.

It was sort of fun. This is the first time I purchased geodes.

Wouldn't only buy this again if it was on offer. We put the geodes in a clear sandwich bag before hammering to avoid the rock pieces from scattering everywhere. We couldn't get them to crack in half like some of the pictures in reviews.
