About this deal

This ink is excellent for artists who desire an ink that can be worked over with watercolors or more inks. Cartridge type pigmented carbon ink for carbon fountain pen4 cartridges per pack Size: 1. A staple for artists who love to add a wash of colour over their line work in their sketches, PLATINUM Carbon Black Ink is one of the most popular waterproof fountain pen inks around the world. Platinum Carbon Black is a waterproof black pigment-based ink with extraordinarily low shading. While this ink can be used in any fountain pen, we recommend practicing good pen care by giving your pen a thorough flush with either room temperature water or a pen wash between refills. Certain pens may handle pigmented inks better than others. Its resilience makes it suited for permanent preservation of your words. Platinum is closely related to the legendary Nakaya fountain pen brand, where some of the finest fountain pens in the world are created. Please note: This ink is safe to use in fountain pens, but regular care and cleaning should be done, as pigmented ink can be damaging if allowed to completely dry up inside the pen. Germany and Japan lead the way in excellence in Fountain pen design and Platinum are amongst the very best in Japanese manufacturers.

Because of this, people say those with larger hands will prefer this one and it is best used for shorter writings or signatures. The ink is not super opaque but not too sheer. This makes it a very smooth ink to write with. I got two different types of tips to see the difference.

I used "Platinum Carbon Ink Bottle 60ml - Black" (Brand: PLATINUM). Drying time appears to be quicker than Scabiosa too so that's another bonus there. 5/5 here - it's simply much better in this regard).

reminds me of that ballpoint ink in the picture)I compared the size to the two most common stationary. This ink does what it says on the box/advertisement/description! The two pens were both purchased on Amazon and are such, "Jinhao X159 Black Acrylic Fountain Pen # 8 Fine Nib Gold Trim for Writing and Calligraphy with Refill Ink Converter" (from the Lanxivi Store) and "PILOT Metropolitan Collection Fountain Pen, Black Barrel, Classic Design, Medium Nib, Black Ink (91107)" (from the PILOT store). The PILOT is smaller and light, perfect for longer writings and those with smaller hands (easy fix is to keep the cap on the back).

It's a bit expensive but you get what you pay for and having permanent ink that really is permanent for work is invaluable to me so I don't mind the outlay. Now i can use my fountain pen to draw and line (ink and wash). I have re-uploaded the images because Amazon displays them in a random order rather then the order I upload them so annotations make them easier to understand. I love it very much.

The most important thing for me was that I use this at work and it MUST be waterproof/indelible. I am new but have done a lot of research to try to find my best deal for a reasonable price being a beginner unsure how I'd like the difference as many others recommend getting a cheaper option if new.

It seems both can be a bit inky but I imagine this will be a bit better once I get the proper papers to write on. Be sure to get the honey browser add on because at the time of purchasing there was a great discount for a few dollars! I definitely have been won over and am officially going to declare a fountain pen fanatic! As I'm sure you too will once you treat yourself to this purchase.
