I like to keep it full. As others have noted, the large size of the opening makes it easy for the next tissue in the stack to fall back inside the box, especially as the number of tissues is substantially reduced. ] Finally, VERY carefully position the "new" "pass-thru" in place inside the acrylic box and VERY carefully press the tape against the acrylic, doing your best to avoid wrinkles in the tape. Cut the top of the donor box off and then cut the "pass-thru" section out - cut well inside the glue lines.

Its modern and look great! Now take strips of clear packing tape (NOT the little rolls you use to extra-seal envelopes) and VERY carefully add them to the "pass thru" within about 1/2" above and below the slit (either side of the "pass-thru", doesn't matter). I suggest you use the old box (paper box being replaced) for practice and the next box you load for the real thing.

Basically zero cost, works exactly (amazing) as well as the original paper box, and can be redone as many times as you want. I love knowing how much tissue I have in the box as well.
