The poetry of Brian Bilston has captivated his ever loyal Twitter followers. Rarely do I laugh out loud when reading a book. They are humorous, clever, witty, nuanced, thought-provoking, challenging, fresh and original. A beautifully written story, peppered with poems that enhance and advance the story, rather than distract.
Liberally sprinkled with custard creams, Wittgenstein and book clubs, it is a wonderful, beautiful book. The best and most original book I have read for a long time. And the same can be said of his first novel, Diary of a Somebody. Each page had me chuckling, giggling and guffawing.
