The lady with her arms folded in the picture is Isobel Williamson mentioned in the book with my family in the late 60s. Those who adore the flatlands of Lincolnshire and the huge beaches will enjoy this book as it portrays the countryside and a bygone way of life beautifully. I loved this book as I knew many of the people in it personally and my mother knew even more. I loved the way Chapel seaside was described.
I spent a lot of my childhood there. The story may be slow but it does not matter as the way of life described is most interesting.
