Note: this book is for PARENTS; Amazon (USA) has erroneously slated this book as having a reading age of 8-13 years old. As a mom of two tweens, I find Ockwell-Smith's book both fascinating and helpful, all information and guidance implementable and relevant. The author has organized the chapters efficiently, so that we first review brain development and then move into the impact thereof.

Overall, this is an easy, interesting read and has made an immediate impact on how my husband and I make parenting choices. I appreciate that Ockwell-Smith provides info in a manner easily understandable by the layman, and that her tone is informative rather than pedantic.

Some information about schooling and future aspirations is specific to UK readers, but the dots are easy-enough to apply to my home country (USA).
