Don't even consider buying another one! The teeth are quite small and so not terribly effective in gripping the veg securely. The blade is razor sharp, make sure the grip/finger guard supplied is used! ***BEWARE*** This truly is razor sharp, I foolishly didn't use the tool that grips whatever you're slicing and didn't notice how quickly the potatoe was decreasing in size until it was too late 😬😱Not the Mandolins fault, it does a brilliant job are slicing thinly and uniformly with the minimum of effort (as my fingers can testify)

And it does the job perfectly as you can see in the picture. The blade however is extremely sharp, so you need to be extra careful when handling it and I would advise to not give to children to use. The slicer handle is angled which makes it comfortable to hold and forms a stand to rest on the cutting board so you can slice directly on to that. The media could not be loaded.

Overall, I would recommend it as a good no bells and whistles, general slicer. If I had one criticism it would be on the vegetable holder/hand guard. I bought this mandoline mainly for slicing potatoes as I love homemade crisps.

Thus is super sharp! purchased it to make homemade crisps and it worked a treat. Hopefully the picture helps you gauge the size better.

I just slow down as I reach then end of the veg. The three thicknesses are perfect for most any recipe you would need and I've found that I can even make wafer thin slices of cucumber - perfect for Japanese cooking ( below is an example of cucumber sunomono I made with this slicer) by adjusting the settings. Easy to use especially as it's hand held ,like the idea it's lockable would highly recommend

This is so good, 3 levels which are all ideal. It cuts very quickly and so will save time in the long run (assuming I can prevent further injuries). If I had to buy just one, I would go with the bigger option as long as you have the space to store it.
