If I go by the recipes, they sink every time and look like Yorkshire Puddings. I'm from America, and I've has some trouble with Mary Berry's books.
This cookbook has all the others beat by a mile. I think I'll try the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake next - or the Jamaican Ginger Cake. I made it with raspberries, raspberry jam, & whipped cream, which I know is traditional. Richard uses plain flour with the baking powder, and everything comes out beautifully.
🍰 Success every time!
I believe that our self rising flour must have more baking powder than the British, but by leaving out the baking powder, I don't get quite the rise I'd like or expect. My husband is a huge fan of the Swiss Roll.
Yum! Or the Apple and Cinnamon Chelsea Buns.
