I tried again with a second order and this time I went with a third party which was fulfilled by Amazon and I had no problems - the box was sealed and everything was there. Be aware of this when ordering.

Installation was smooth, even though I initially feared that I’d break the PS5’s cover trying to remove it it comes off relatively easily. I suspect there's warehouse theft ongoing with items like these. This drive is (apparently) the fastest on the market, and it doesn't disappoint. For the price tag of the PlayStation 5, coming pre-loaded with 825gb, a quarter of which is taken up by the actual system files, why was it not given at least 1TB+?

Not sure if this helps but I had a series of crashes when using Cubase 11 pro on even relatively small projects, my ssd would be at 100% and then the PC would crash. I guess my question is…. it runs hot.

Once I powered my PS5 back on, I formatted the drive and proceeded to move some games from my PS5’s SSD to the expansion SSD. I think my firecuda would be wasted in the ps5 for the money, but equally this isn't that much cheaper and its hard to justify this nvme over the segate.

The result after cloning the original c drive was staggering, when loading a project it hardly reaches 40% even on large projects and much faster load time . Cannot recommend this drive enough, absolutely the way to go and the heat sink option is gonna save you having to shop around the market. - all done, just a case of fitting the silver plate, and side of Ps5 clicked into placeUpon startup you'll be asked to format the new drive, done. Simply take the screws out once the cover is off, move the spacer down a step, plug in the SSD, screw everything back in and put the cover back on.
