Overall, very pleased with how they are shipped. For me, I am not a big guy (5 ft 4 in), but this wasn't really too big an issue, although sometimes I have to be careful not to bang the ends of the dumbells against each other. When lifting, the weights feel very sturdy. 5 lbs.

I’m used to using solid, old school dumbbells so the movement of the plates is just something I will need to get used to. Nothing was broken so A+ to Bowflex, Amazon, and UPS. Although unlike traditional dumbbells, you can't drop these on the ground after a set. Have been wanting these for a few years, but cheaped out and got a couple simple sets of bars and small weights.

I have recently switched to the Selecttech 560s though and will be finally retiring the 552s. This can cause a problem with some of the P90X exercises. -The weight range is phenomenal. I’ve already done several workouts, all of which could technically be unilateral, but it’s so convenient to have two DBs.

I’ve already used them as “medicine balls,” only they’re not ball-shaped. As you can see in the photo that is attached the plates that actually hold the weights are a plastic, the weights have a little chunk of metal that holds in the grooves on this plastic. I highly recommend these dumbells.

No major problems at all. They’re made by Bowflex so you know you’re going to get a quality product AND quality support should you ever need it. ? The handle is ergonomic to fit the palm of your hand and the grip feels good and natural during lifting.

The knobs turn very easily and give a distinct/solid “click” when the knob is in the correct position. 5 on tricep exercises, rather than 10lbs to 15 helps significantly. The dumbbells themselves have a plastic bag around them and they are fastened to the dumbbell base with a strap. I only noticed this after a month or 2.

WOW. I have had a plate stick and needed to wiggle it around to loosen it again, but it was not an issue. A good texture on metal would have been a lot better. You don’t need to try to figure out any weight plate combinations in your head.
