I bought two of these pillows (one for me and the other for my partner). My pillow covers that match my quilt cover can fit over these pillows with all three inner cushions. I have slept with two pillows for my entire life - But now I only need the one (Don't worry, I have the thickest part and the medium size inside so this would easily suit someone who likes flatter pillows).

The pillow has 3 inner pillows inside of it (they are already in there when you receive it). Lovely soft pillow, I have been using it with all the filling without removing any (but nice to have the option to) and find it very compatible with a good night's sleep. I do not have a single complaint for these cushions.
