5mm line. This grass trimmer arrives in an admirably small manufacturer’s box. Even a stray bit of strimmer line pinging off can feel like you've been shot with a BB gun and will leave a 5p-sized red, painful lump on uncovered legs. The strimmer absolutely burned through our incredibly overgrown garden (the grass was almost a meter tall in places with weeds everywhere, tree stumps to navigate, big stones and bricks hiding underneath, and stone/fence edges too) and the machine didn’t use anywhere near as much nylon as I expected it to, and it easily stood up to every test.

It's certainly cut through everything I've asked it to - and then some! It doesn't seem like much of a difference but in practice, is very noticeable. 6mm line).

1mm difference in thickness of installed line, as I’ve been using that with 1. This runs out on us, and it would take multiple charges of the battery to get round the whole plot.

The handle is spring loaded, and when installed goes in to a built up surround. My Dad (5'9" and 72) concurs that this seems heavier and a bit less powerful, but nevertheless a decent grass trimmer. It certainly did. If I hadn’t already experienced a grass trimmer I find easier to handle, which uses a battery that’s part of a widely interchangeable system, I think I would have been very happy with this.
