I haven’t read the book yet and I’m writing five star as to not hurt the ratings because I really enjoyed the first one. I honestly can't get enough of Poppy and Casteel and their electric dynamic. Meanwhile, Poppy's ability to heal continues to grow, yet she can also feel her other deep and darker powers building inside her.

I had to take a few days to get my thoughts together because this book was honestly even more shocking than the first. Like honestly, my husband has started asking questions 😂This book not only shows us more of Kieran, who is simply hilarious, but it also reveals more of their world whilst also leaving us with a lot of questions after that ending 👀My countdown is now on this year, which will not only give us The Crown of Guilded Bones but it might also see the release of book 4 or FBAA from Hawke's POV. The Descendants also want her dead and Poppy fears having to return to the Ascended to fulfil her role as the Chosen as that leaves her chilled to the bone. I disagree.
