. I slowed down my reading pace as l didn’t want it to end. In particular, gay people but also people of colour and those in mixed race partnerships (the use of any terms considered to be offensive is absolutely unintentional). Simply gorgeous read.

Albert is super adorable, I love him. One thing that I did enjoy is the large print which made this easy read even easier. It's brilliant. In this feel-good story of life and love, Albert finds that he has the support of friends, work colleagues and neighbours when he needs them most.

This is an easy read which flows from the page and is sprinkled with just the right amount of Northern dialect to make the characters feel genuine. I Smiled, I cried, I laughed, I honestly just loved everything about it, and was gutted when it finished. Albert is our main man and we learn of his trials and tribulations as a young fellow who discovers his sexual orientation following a first experiment with alcohol.

A lovely feel good story I would recommend everyone to read. This book is just brilliant , I read it in a week, my favourite time of the day was sitting in the garden in evening getting to know Albert 👊🏻🌈 One might consider The Secret Life of Albert E as a light social study of those considered non-conformist in England during the mid-1900s.
